We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Head of Marketing to build and lead the marketing function for our growing B2B e-commerce startup in the business products industry. This is a hands-on role, perfect for an entrepreneurial marketer with experience in scaling e-commerce companies from the ground up. As the first marketing hire, you will be responsible for creating, executing, and optimizing marketing strategies to drive brand awareness, lead generation, and revenue growth.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing Strategy & Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with the company’s growth objectives and target audience.

  • Define and prioritize marketing goals, KPIs, and budgets, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy.

  • Build the foundation for a scalable marketing organization, with a focus on both short-term results and long-term brand building.

 

Execution of Marketing Plans:

  • Execute hands-on creation and delivery of marketing initiatives across digital channels, including SEO/SEM, email, social media, content marketing, and paid advertising.

  • Build and manage campaigns to drive customer acquisition, retention, and loyalty.

  • Develop compelling content, including blog posts, case studies, whitepapers, and marketing collateral tailored to a B2B audience.

 

Customer Insights & Market Research:

  • Conduct market research to identify customer pain points, preferences, and trends within the B2B e-commerce space.

  • Utilize customer insights and analytics to refine marketing strategies and improve campaign effectiveness.

 

 Brand Development:

  • Establish and position the company’s brand as a trusted leader in the business products industry.

  • Develop a consistent brand voice and messaging across all marketing channels.

  • Collaborate with sales and product teams to ensure brand alignment and cohesive customer experiences.

 

Digital Marketing & E-commerce Growth:

  • Optimize the e-commerce platform for user experience, traffic conversion, and lead generation.

  • Lead website performance initiatives, including improving traffic, click-through rates, and conversion rates.

  • Manage performance marketing campaigns, ensuring ROI and measurable impact on revenue.

 

Metrics & Reporting:

  • Analyze the performance of all marketing campaigns and channels, providing actionable insights to improve results.

  • Create and deliver regular reports to leadership, highlighting progress, challenges, and opportunities.

  • Continuously test, measure, and optimize marketing strategies for scalability and efficiency.

 

Qualifications:             

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA is a plus.

  • 7+ years of marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a startup or high-growth e-commerce environment.

  • Proven track record of creating and executing marketing plans that drive measurable growth.

  • Strong expertise in digital marketing, including SEO/SEM, PPC, social media, email marketing, and analytics.

  • Experience with B2B marketing and understanding of sales funnels and lead generation.

  • Hands-on experience with marketing tools such as Google Analytics, HubSpot, Mailchimp, or similar platforms.

  • Exceptional communication and content creation skills tailored to a B2B audience.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and work independently.

  • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven mindset.
